BandB

We live in a townhouse (illustrated) less than 10 minutes by train from Sydney CBD, 15 minutes on foot to North Sydney CBD or Crows Nest village, the latter noted for its dining, furniture shops and TV production.

We are both retired ministers of The Uniting Church in Australia.

Bev is Sydney born and bred and has spent most of her life in Sydney apart from three years in London in her late teens when her father was posted there by the Bank Of New South Wales (now Westpac).

Bruce is born and bred in Cairns, North Queensland, and has moved around by virtue of church and Army postings in the three eastern mainland states and in Viet Nam.

It's a second marriage for both of us (1989) so you'll find info about our respective families under our personal links at right. Between us we have five children and thirteen grandchildren scattered from Brisbane to Sydney to Ballarat. Bev is known as Annie to all the grand-children.

We met at Shirley Road Uniting Church in Crows Nest, Sydney, about 1987 and were married there in the Sunday morning service on 17 December 1989. It was also the 3rd Sunday of Advent, and the Call to Worship from the Old Testament read:

Strengthen the weak hands,
and make firm the feeble knees.
Say to those who are of a fearful heart,
"Be strong, do not fear!"

We were married by the minister and friend Moira Laidlaw, and Lutheran Army colleague Ern Sabel preached.

At the time, Bruce was Senior Chaplain at the Army's Training Command and Bev was a student for ministry. Bev was ordained 16 months later. Bev uses her maiden name, Cameron.
